Day 3: No Pecking Around - The Three French Hens of Work Comp
Dec 12, 2025Hooray for Friday and Three French Hens! On Day 3, we spotlight three challenges to tackle as we move toward 2026.
Just as hens bring daily sustenance and rhythm to the farmyard, these challenges remind us that steady attention and care will keep our work comp ecosystem thriving.
Challenge 1: Onboarding New Case Managers
Welcoming new case managers is more than filling positions — it’s about building confidence, culture, and connection. In 2026, we’ll continue to focus on:
- Guided learning with real world mentorship: Our Becoming a Workers’ Compensation Case Manager course pairs technical training with hands on guidance, ensuring new hires gain both knowledge and confidence.
- Celebrating unique perspectives: From Florida to Utah, we embrace regional diversity and professional backgrounds, making every team member feel seen, supported, and valued.
- Launching with purpose: With structured tools and clear expectations, new case managers start strong — stepping into their roles with clarity, excitement, and momentum from day one.
Challenge 2: Teaching Providers
Providers are critical partners in recovery, and 2026 is about strengthening their foundation in workers’ compensation. Rather than starting from scratch, our focus is on reinforcing what providers already know and closing the gaps that can slow down care or claims.
- Establishing a clear baseline: Standardizing education around Work Comp fundamentals — ODG guidelines, evidence‑based care, and RTW goals — so every provider is aligned.
- Reinforcing strengths: Building on providers’ existing expertise while clarifying how their role fits into the broader recovery and claims process.
- Closing gaps with practical tools: Offering streamlined documentation templates, communication aids, and case examples that make it easier to apply best practices consistently.
By creating a strong baseline and reinforcing provider knowledge, we ensure smoother collaboration, fewer delays, and better outcomes for injured workers.
Challenge 3: Improving Communication with Adjusters
Adjusters are the glue between medical care and claims resolution. In 2026, we’ll strengthen this connection by:
- Streamlining updates so adjusters receive timely, relevant information.
- Building trust through transparent communication and consistent follow-through.
- Staying proactive to reduce delays and ensure everyone is working from the same playbook.
Like the Three French Hens, we’re focused on consistency and care. These three challenges are really three opportunities to strengthen our flock — by investing in people, educating providers, and sharpening communication, we’ll hatch a more efficient and compassionate year in work comp.
Three hens, three challenges, three opportunities. Let’s embrace them with energy, creativity, and collaboration — because 2026 is ours to shape.
